True to Karter form......

she caught the big fish, and yes it was on her 2 ft. Barbie fishing pole. She is amazing when it comes to fishing. This is a brown trout about 16 in. long, caught at Bear Flats near Payson Arizona. We had a blast camping and she had a blast eating her fresh kill.

HAHA, Silly Crae!

So we're at Karter's soccer practice when we realize that Crae is "free ballin'". We laughed and were trying to explain why he should wear underwear and he said that the shorts he was wearing hold themselves up, so therefore there was no need for underwear for this particular pair of shorts. Nice logic, but doesn't cut it. He said it so matter of fact though, oh how that boy makes me laugh.....and scream.

It's our 11th Anniversary!

Woohoo!! Eleven years! And I am STILL madly in love with Karl! We are celbrating by going to Bisbee, AZ, an old mining town, and staying at the Copper Queen hotel in one of the most haunted rooms!!! We are sooo excited, it will be such an adventure! Then on Saturday, we will be taking the mining tour, which again I am really excited about. You see, my maternal grandfather was born in Bisbee. His family came from England to mine in the mines, so most of his other siblings were born in England. I always feel a sense of person history every time I've been there. I love it!! So, it's a bit different, but isn't life one big adventure??

hahahaha!!

Just watched my four year old son "do" his hair. I kept telling him to be done and get out my bathroom and he looked at me and said, "Mom, my hair isn't perfect yet."
Seriously?!! Karl is so proud. By the way, Crae's hair is pretty short!

Wouldn't it be nice if I had all the time in the world to read and write on blogs? Hear other about other peoples lives and their hardships and realize my life isn't so bad.
I apprently don't write on here enough, so here it is. You know what I've been thinking about lately that totally bugs me? People getting their feelings hurt through stupid things. Last night I went to a VT RS thing and a woman talked about how she didn't want VT's for about ten years because one of them made a dumb comment. I think there was more to the story, but that's the jist. I think that I'm wired weird, because I don't get it. What did the Savior do when he was going to be knowingly crucified and all throughout his life when he was percecuted against? That's right, he prayed for them and still loved them because they weren't perfect and neither are we. I think we have emasculated men in our society and yet the women haven't toughened up. What the hell? Instead of being so upset with other people because somehow they "wronged" you, I have one thing to say...."check yourself". That's what I do. Is it really worth it? How strong is your testimony if you are letting you being hurt stray you from the gospel and your relationship with God and Christ? Jus think about. Aren't we supposed to be trying to be Christ-like? I don't recall anywhere in the scriptures where Christ whines about how everyone is so mean to him, and they weren't nice to him. They called him bad names and talked crap about him to his face and behind his back. Hell, didn't they kill him? Hmm, and yet he's still our Savior and loves everyone. Amazing!! It's incredible what forgiveness can do. None of us are perfect or claim to be. So buck up campers and put on some thicker skin. We all say dumb things and do dumb things and Heavenly Father and Jesus still love us!! All I can say is "Get over it! It isn't worth it".
Have a great day!

Where did Santa come from?

Karl and I were recently discussing this question. I think Santa is patterned after Christ. He knows and loves you. He keeps a record of you. He wants you to be happy and good, and still loves you when your not. He brings you "gifts". We decided at one point parents must have made up Santa so the kids wouldn't know the gifts came from them, and Christ doesn't often make house calls. So, that's where Santa came from, according to me. Am I close?

Proud Mama Moment

My seven year-old daughter recently went to a birthday party at a friends house. They had Sprite for the little girls to drink, but had run out. The dad asked her is she wanted Dr. Pepper, she told him that she is not aloud to drink it and she would just like some water. Yeah!!!
Then the were going to watcht he Hannah Montana movie, and she went up to the mom questioning the movie. Letting her know that she is not aloud to watch the show at home, so she wasn't sure if the movie is okay. The mother let her know that she did run it by me and I approved of the movie.
It's so nice to know the things that we are teaching them really are sticking. I am soo proud of my little girl for making such great choices!!

Karter has decided that she LOVES soccer! I am glad she is having so much fun!!
We started Crae in Karate. On his first day, he got out on the floor, and just shut down. He ended up being scared and ran back to me. We tried again today all alone and he did much better. Do I keep pushing him or leave it? I know he will love it once he gets it.
Karl also started going to a MMA gym and is loving it. He has bruises on his neck and underarms. It looks like I beat him in unnoticeable places.
Me? I am barely keeping up. Trying to do a light jog on the treadmill, up to a couple minutes now. Woohoo!! Small accomplishments, and baby steps, that's how I roll!!

Soccer!

Karter had her first soccer game this morning and within the first few minutes of playing she scored their first goal!! Woohoo!!! They went on to lose 3-6. But, hey, it's her first game, she's a go-getter and her natural drive showed up! So, I am a happy mom today, they played their best. What more can I ask for?

Funny!

Crae LOVES to take medicine. He saw the pink bottle of kids Pepto and asked if he could have one. I told him no and that the medicine was used to make you stop pooping and since he didn't have a problem, he wasn't going to get one. Later that day as he is taking care of "business" he's yelling at me, "mom! the poop won't stop coming out, i need medicine!" Uhm, no. I had to be more specific then. Oh, the joys of little kids.
Karter made a joke at the other day and laughed so hard at it she started crying. It was a dumb joke, but she thought she was sooo funny. Hmm, I guess she gets that from me.
